Dianne, a.k.a. “The Kitschy Collector” lives in a home decorated in “cottage style of unknown origin” and is working very hard to “re-purpose” (cottage jargon for re-cycle) all the junk her kids brought home from college. When she is not cleaning out cluttered rooms and closets or hunting for more kitschy “stuff” , she can be found at her computer working on books about “hot” collectibles and other subjects that capture her attention. Her first book, Hot Kitchen & Home Collectibles of the 30s, 40s, 50s, was very well received and convinced her that she was up for another challenge. Her second book, Hot Cottage Collectibles for Vintage Style Homes also published by Collectorbooks.com will be released Fall 08. The Kitschy Collector is about to start a third book project so stay tuned. Dianne, an author, mixed-media artist and psychotherapist has been collecting and selling kitchen and cottage collectibles in Connecticut for nearly three decades. Her number one pastime is travelling around her home state and beyond, visiting her favorite antique shops, galleries and eateries. Many afternoons you can usually catch up with Dianne at the Kess Café in Plantsville CT just around the corner from The Plantsville General Store & Antique Center where she sells kitchen-wares, cottage collectibles, vintage paper and textiles in her shop “Kitsch-n-Stuff”.
